MYA for Parents

MYA is contacted by many parents, seeking a safe and healthy environment for their glbtq youth. MYA has two adult facilitators each Friday, as well as a “greeter” at the door. All MYA volunteers and staff undergo the usual criminal and child abuse background checks.

MYA meets each Friday evening from 7-9:30 pm. There is no charge for admission and like any group, where teens gather, snacks are served!

From time to time, we welcome parents to join in for an activity of fundraising or discussion and those will be posted on our calendar in advance.

Parents, with questions can email president@myaonline.org, and a board member will get back to you.

How You Can Help

FaviconMYA is always looking for great volunteers and educators to help with our organization. Each week we have adult “greeters” to work the door. The meetings are hosted by two adult facilitators, which have great communication skills, and the ability to connect with youth.

Outside of weekly meetings, we sometimes need chaperones or other assistance in planning activities. We are always on the lookout for those with skills in fundraising and grant writing who are passionate about our mission.
